Wendy and Friends
Arizona clay artist and Wicked Winds Studio resident artist Wendy S. Timm specializes in one-of-a-kind hand crafted sculptures constructed in stoneware clay. Originally from Wisconsin, Wendy draws on her sense of humor, love for nature and animals, and her Midwest heritage for some of her imagery.
A graduate of the University of Arizona with a B.F.A. in art education, her teaching background includes K-12 public school art education, City of Tucson and Pima Country Parks and Recreation Programs, and Pima Community College.
Wendy lives in close contact with the wildlife that visits her 1-acre yard. Javelina, bobcats, owls, and hawks are frequent visitors. She also cares for several desert tortoises and a box turtle. From time to time, she has rescued baby quail that got separated from their parents and raised them until they were old enough to release. On two separate occasions the babies bonded with her and she shared her house with them as members of the family. The wildlife enriches her life and certainly inspires her artwork.
